The concept of staying still and waiting for something is becoming more and more of a distant occurrence. As we live in a fast paced life, we often tend to lose our ability to wait for things to happen.
I remember the story of the purchase of our first home. It was on the back of a prophetic word from God, following a career breakthrough in our lives.
We looked at affordability as well as what we considered the right time and went all out to get a new home. We exerted a lot of energy and eventually found what we considered to be ‘the one.’ It was befitting and also within reach financially!
As the purchase process started, my husband started feeling as if we were making the right move too quickly… a case of right move wrong time. Every subsequent visit left us in doubt, but we still felt we should go ahead.
A couple of months into processing the purchase, the underwriters decided not to give us the mortgage because we were too new in the UK and did not have a long credit history.
We were disappointed and wanted to go all out for the next options but heard God tell us to stand and see His blessing. We did wait and when He gave us the next signal to go ahead, we did.
Needless to say, it was a house that cost much less, the mortgage rate had halved and the area we bought in, subsequently became a huge door to many more blessings to our entire household.
I'm so glad we waited on the Lord and didn’t rush off to get ourselves into a quick alternative.
God in His word said;
‘Stand still! Know that I am God! I will be honoured by every nation in this world!’ Psalm 46:10 (TLB)
Every time you stand still, allowing God guide you, He will show Himself in charge of your life and be honoured. Great outcome will be experienced and His testimony will be unending in your life.
Can you truly stand to be blessed? Don’t run for alternatives, wait for Him.
