It is Christmas season and I have consistently seen faces change and attitudes become more positive. You do hear the words that people are either happy or extremely miserable at Christmas, but I can truly say that I have seen more happy faces than I had seen in the past.
One of such examples of a happy face was a gentleman that I tend to see when going into the gym. I have attempted greetings many times in the past. He will say hello and continue to look semi miserable. It Is usually obvious that he found the greeting interrupting of his thinking and pattern. But this week, he cracked a smile when I gave him the good morning greeting and not only that, he said ‘merry Christmas’. I was taken aback.
In my spin class, we also had an interestingly joyful rather than painful experience with my instructor choosing to play Christmas carols that we all sang to and forgot our pain in exercising till the class session was over. In fact, it felt as if the class was shorter rather than longer!
Last but not the least is the experience when I walked into a shop to buy gifts, the shop assistance should have been very tired and uncooperative. Despite his exhaustion, you can see genuine love when he was talking about the season. Not only did we talk about the season, but we also saw another customer walk through the door with a beautiful T-shirt. On the T-shirt was written; Christ Is The Real Present of The Season. This became a very good talking point, and no one felt offended or uncomfortable with this.
Such a joyful season we are in, and I want to use that opportunity to remind you that God gives joy and out of the abundance of that joy in our heart flows and gladness, happiness and grace to change every situation from sadness to joy comes. Receive that grace in Jesus’ name.
Never forget that Jesus came to give us joy and you can experience the same today and spread it in Jesus’ name.
‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.’ Rom 15:13
May you be filled with joy, peace and hope this season and beyond in Jesus’ name.
Today I say, Merry Christmas to you!
